Security groups offer a fine level of control over the features and information users interact with when using Felix.
The features available within Felix can be restricted based on the permissions they require. Permissions are granted separately for each security group, to allow users to perform certain actions within the platform.
Tip: Staff users can belong to more than one security group simultaneously. This can be useful for granting temporary permissions to a specific user, or where users require the intermittent elevation of permissions.
Felix provides three out-of-the-box Global Security Groups, available to every organisation using Felix. These roles cannot be edited and provide a base permissions structure.
| Security Group | Description |
|---|---|
| Administrator | The administrator role is designed for administrative, management and oversight functions. An administrator user has access to view and edit all items within the platform. They can modify the organisation's profile and settings and are primarily responsible for managing staff users, teams and panels. Typically a Procurement Manager from your organisation will be nominated to be an administrator user. |
| Standard | A standard user has the ability to carry out day-to-day functions within Felix. Standard users are able to view and edit RFQ functions, subject to the project group permissions. |
| View Only | Users belonging to the view only security group have read-only access to Felix in a standard user capacity. View only users cannot create, modify or delete within Felix. |

Custom security groups offer a flexible structure that can better suit an organisation's business roles and needs.
Organisation administrator users can create additional security groups, which can then be assigned to staff users within Felix. Staff users can belong to one or more groups, depending on the structure and specific requirements of the organisation.
