Sometimes the words and phrases we use can be confusing for new platform users. The following article outlines some of the most commonly used words in Felix to help you navigate your way through the platform.
Note: Some of the Felix terms are subject to configuration and may differ to the table below. If your organisation has enabled custom terms, please use the table below for orientation.
|Category||A category is a group of vendor's services (Hire Equipment, Trade or Product) that share specific characteristics, and may include sub-categories.|
For example, Excavator may be a parent category, while 10-15 Tonne Excavator is a sub-category.
|Dry Hire||Dry Hire refers to the hire of equipment without an operator.|
|Expression of Interest (EOI)||An Expression of Interest (EOI) is an indication of a vendor's interest in an opportunity and normally forms part of a pre-tendering event.|
|Hire Equipment||Hire Equipment is a category type. It includes plant or equipment hired either on a Wet Hire or Dry Hire basis.|
|Organisation||An organisation is a business or department that uses Felix to manage their vendors and undertake procurement activities.|
|Panel||A panel is a basic organisational unit within Felix that helps to manage vendors, their on-boarding experience and ongoing compliance as per an organisation's requirements.|
|Pricing Schedule||A Pricing Schedule is a detailed listing of the line items to be priced for a requested category.|
Outside of Felix you may have heard the terms Bill of Quantities (BoQ), Schedule of Rates (SoR), or Bill of Materials (BoM) used to describe a Pricing Schedule.
|Product||A Product is a category type. It includes goods provided by the vendor.|
|Project Group||A Project Group is a basic organisational unit within Felix which helps you to group and organise your RFQs and manage staff access to them.|
|Request for Information||A Request for Information (RFI) is a message that a vendor can send in relation to an RFQ.|
|Request for Quotation (RFQ)||A Request for Quotation (RFQ) is a general term for formal sourcing activities in Felix. It is usually a request to obtain offers from a vendor on specified categories/sub-categories.|
Outside of Felix, you may have heard the terms Invitation to Tender (ITT), Invitation to Bid (ITB), or Request for Tender (RFT) used to describe an RFQ.
|Services||Services are an overarching term used to describe what a vendor provides. Services include Hire Equipment, Trades and Products.|
|Staff||Staff refers to users that have access to your organisation account.|
|Team||A team refers to a group of staff. It is easy to think of a team as a folder for your staff.|
|Trade||Trade is a category type. It includes physical services, trades or works provided by a vendor.|
|User ID||Your User ID is a unique number used to identify your Felix account. you will find it in the top right corner of the application page, after logging in to your account.|

|Vendor||A vendor is a business that provides specified equipment, trades or products to your organisation.|
