Import from InEight Document

Save time importing project files from InEight Documents to an RFQ by using the InEight Document and Felix integration.



Import InEight Document project files when creating an RFQ

To import an InEight Document project file when creating an RFQ:

  1. Navigate to Projects > Requests for Quotation from the main menu.
  2. Click the New RFQ button in the top right corner.
  3. To complete each section in the Job Summary tab, refer to How to create an RFQ.
  4. Go to the Documents tab after completing the Job Summary tab.
  5. Click the Import from InEight button beneath the relevant document group.



Filter InEight Document project files

This allows you to search using parameters that are unique to each project.

  1. Select an option from the filter dropdown to filter documents by a specific parameter such as Title. Filters are dynamic and may differ from project to project.

  2. Enter relevant parameters in the next field or select from a dropdown.
  3. Select Add Filter if you need to narrow down your search even more.

  4.  Click the Apply Filters button. 


Clicking the Apply Filters button without selecting any options from the dropdowns will give you a long list of files that are available within InEight Document for the mapped project.


Select InEight Document project files to import

  1. To select which document you would like to import to an RFQ, click the checkbox beside the document number. You can select one or many files at once.
  2. Click the Import to RFQ button.

  3. To remove a document, click the x icon beside the document name.
  4. To download a document, click the down arrow icon beside the document name.
  5. Refer to How to add services to an RFQ to proceed with the next step.


Documents with multiple attachments are currently not supported for import to Felix. Please ensure that the document contains only a single attachment before importing it.


Import InEight Document project files to a live RFQ

To import an InEight Document project file to a live RFQ:

  1. Navigate to Projects > Requests for Quotation from the main menu.
  2. Locate the RFQ that you would like to import the InEIght Document project file to by using the quick search or filters.
  3. Click on the RFQ Job Name or hover over the ellipsis icon and select View Details from the options.
  4. Go to the Documents tab.
  5. Click the Add or Update Document button.
  6. In the Addendum, update the following:
    • Title
    • (Optional) Ref # - internal reference number
    • Body - Enter your message in this field.
  7. Click the Upload new file(s) radio button beneath the message body field.
  8. Select the relevant Services from the dropdown.
  9. Select the relevant Document Group from the dropdown.
  10. Click the Import from InEight button beneath the document upload field.
  11. Select an option from each dropdown to filter and click the Apply Filters button.
  12. To select which document you would like to import to a live RFQ, click the checkbox beside the document number.
  13. Click the Import to RFQ button.
  14. To remove a document, click the x icon beside the document name.
  15. To download a document, click the down arrow icon beside the document name.
  16. Click the Send button.
